We held our annual apoc game on black friday (nov 28)… At WoW in Portland, OR. It was great fun – I had a blast. The phantom titan was beastly – and I think I will not take it to another Apoc event unless there is another giant titan to spar with. The combined forces for “good” defeated the legions of chaos – in a somewhat slaughter.
The game was 30,000pts … 5k per player in 3 man teams. Here is the photo dump of the event.
Here we have assembled the side of “good”. … awaiting the side of chaos. “Good” consisted of Eldar (wraithguard-my ofcc army), an ArmorCast Scorpion, and the Phantom. IG air cav… tanks …tanks… and more tanks. A couple groups of IG Knights.. and some Space Marines and sisters. As you can see in the photos.
Initially the Chaos Warhound placement… but he thought better of it and slid to the far end (away from the Phantoms LOS).
Both sides are assembled!…
Those vortex rockets were sure annoying! (they help end the Eldar Scorpions time on the table).
Things get really messy those first couple rounds…
The short time they were on the table… the Hornets managed to rough up some spawn.
BACK YOU DAEMON SCUM!
Not sure whom finishes the Scorpion… but its days were numbered at this point. I did clear the table of a couple things before that happened.
Darn little pests… they did damage to my Phantom… but soon they were cleared away by a stomp with help from my wraith knight.
The Phantom really helped “cleanse” the table … those big D-cannon pie plate templates were NASTY.
This demon (blue one with wings…) did a bit of damage to the Phantom – too little too late. I stomped him… with help from my allies as well.
Now we’re just mopping up… I think we went to the 5th round. After the Phantom “one-shotted” the Chaos Warhound… things went pretty quickly.
Thanks for stopping by!
I got a chance to get the big phantom base colors sprayed on … Pontiac blue – and a really light cammo tan.
Here are picts of the progress.
Ohhh I couldn’t resist a group shot. My Revenant was in the yurt — maybe next time.
Got the big guy primed and magnetized. I need to go through each piece now and fill all the bubble and other gaps. – but it’s good to get this far.
I really wanted to have it at least primed before Black Friday. Now I can work on other projects for winterizing around the place. I hope to get the gaps done and at least a base color done by the end of the month.
