This New Year in Hobby – 1.9.17

Well the holidays are left behind now – I enjoyed the time with family and friends. Now it’s time to get back and focus on hobby and other projects.

Let’s see… I finished a few things before the end of the year. I just lacked the time to post it all.  I finished the two Grists for DarkAge.

I also started and finished these two Lashers.

I’ve been trying to get these Brood completed… and I’m down to just s few left. These two Pud-Throwers are nearly complete – I hope to get them done this week.

And yesterday I started prepping the last five for the Brood. It will be nice to have these guys done and off the painting table.

Lastly, I got the display of my wedding topper redone for my wife. It’s only been almost three years since I said I would finish it lol.

Ok, short update as to the goings on for my hobby. Yesterday my RPG group got back to gaming – things are feeling back on track.

This Week in Hobby – 10.25.16

Well – another slow-ish week. With the BloodBowl league on an every two week schedule- I skipped getting any games in.

I finished up these two Sawblades for my DarkAge Brood.

I’m happy with how they turned out. And they seem to fit well with the rest of my Brood to this point.

After getting the rest of my Brood in from purchases last week.  I quickly set to popping the blister packs and boxes to start assembling the additions.

Some of the resin parts didn’t fit well. I’m sure Brood will get new resculpts someday.

The Numbskull is especially ill fitting. I have spent over a hour fiddling with it before resorting to green stuff and superglue to get him together.

The image on the box was a “reverse image” when compared to the actual model. It’s irritating because your looking at the box – trying to understand how the figure should be put together.

This is the pose I went with. Which is similar to the image on the box … but with his fist pounding the ground – into the nicely cratered basing.

Next for him I’ll clean up the joints with more green stuff and prep him for primer.

Ordo Spring League

I’ve decided to enter my local gaming clubs Infinity Spring League. This is a painting league – where I post up my goals – the figures I plan to do… and then get points I the league based on my progress.

All of this is perpetration for the big local tourney this summer. I also plan to get games of infinity in along with the painting.

Here is my list …

Roger Van Zant

(2) Foxtrot Rangers

Mavericks on bike

112. Emergency Service

(2) Dozer Field Engineers

Minutemen Ohio

(7) Grunts

(2) Traktor Muls

— All of these guys have been sitting on my painting table for many long months … With very little progress. I have finished a select few of the USAriadna… But ideally I need to free up space on my painting table.

Here is a photo-log of the minis I’ve put in the list – and the state of the paint.

The figures I’ve finished already don’t count for league points as far as painting goes – unless somehow I improve them. I may redo their basing – but beyond that I’m not sure.

I’ll start posting weekly updates to this Infinity Spring (painting) League as things progress. But before I start the Infinity painting … I’m trying to get my Dark-Age Brood faction painted.

I started with Mean Jellybean and the Brood Hounds this weekend – here’s how they are progressing.

The Brood should be pretty quick – I have less than 10 figures to paint to complete them all. And I only need 6 for my 500pt list.
